The short version: Marktide collects nothing. Your notes never leave your Mac.
Nothing. Marktide has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting service, no telemetry of any kind. The app does not know who you are, and it has no server to send data to.
Your documents are plain markdown files stored in folders you choose on your own Mac. Marktide never uploads, copies, or transmits them. If you choose to keep your vault in a synced folder (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc.), that syncing is performed by that service under its own privacy policy — Marktide is not involved.
Marktide's AI features (grammar fixes, rewriting, summaries, title suggestions) are powered by Apple Intelligence and run entirely on your Mac. Your text is never sent to Marktide, to Apple's servers by Marktide, or to any third party. No AI feature in Marktide uses the network.
The only network requests Marktide can make are optional downloads of open-source rendering libraries (KaTeX for math, Mermaid for diagrams, highlight.js for code) from a public CDN, used to render your preview. These requests contain no personal data and no document content, and you can eliminate them entirely by vendoring the libraries for offline use.
Marktide is sold through the Mac App Store. Your payment is processed entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Marktide receives no personal or payment information about you.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Since Marktide collects nothing, there is very little that could change.
